Monkey Business & Jungle Feels

#summervacay Sepilok is straight-up jungle heaven, especially if you're a softie for animals (like me). I came for the orangutans, stayed for the vibes. The Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre is the main star, and honestly? Seeing those fuzzy red-haired babies swing through the trees was everything. They're wild-ish but still come close during feeding times, and it’s adorable chaos watching them snatch bananas and chill like jungle royalty.
Right next door is the Bornean Sun Bear Centre—tiny bears with big personalities. Super cute and kinda underrated. The whole area is super green, peaceful, and smells like fresh rainforest (with a hint of monkey).
It’s not a fast-paced kind of place, more of a wander-slow-and-soak-it-all-in spot. There are wooden boardwalks through the forest, birds chirping, and just this calm jungle energy that makes you wanna ditch your phone.
If you’re in Sabah and wanna meet some wild locals, Sepilok is the place. Bring bug spray and your inner David Attenborough.
