Fukui [Tojinbo]

A national natural monument, this coastline is lined with giant rock pillars stretching for about 1km. It was once a famous suicide spot, but is now a major tourist destination that attracts many visitors.

On the other hand, it is not as high as you might imagine from TV dramas.

The closer you get to the cliffs, the more lively the cafes and souvenir shops become, but the area around Tojinbo Tower feels deserted.

Still, the scenery created by nature is rare and cannot be seen anywhere else, and it is well-known, so it is worth visiting at least once.

It was well worth the visit.

Address: 64-1 Yasushima, Mikuni-cho, Sakai-shi, Fukui 913-0064

Fee: Free to visit, 500 yen for parking.
