Take the funicular to the Salzburg Fortress
Hohensalzburg Fortress
is located at the highest point in Salzburg.

It was built to prevent German invasion,
but it was never occupied, so you can still see it in its original form.

One of the reasons I loved this place was

the diverse views it offered of Salzburg.

On one side, you could see the Mozartplatz and the Old Town buildings.
On the other, you could see the town where people lived. It felt like the present and the past coexisted,
making it a truly unique place for me.
