During my trip to Kota Kinabalu, my local friends brought me to several eateries, and these two stood out as my favourites:

▶️ Guan's Kopitiam Gaya Street. 🥐☕🫛🥪🥘🍗🥦
We went here for breakfast. It’s a traditional kopitiam with a cozy atmosphere and a touch of modern charm, serving authentic local delights with a creative twist.
I had Nasi Lemak with Rendang Chicken, while Ann enjoyed a Kaya Butter Croissant, and Patrick ordered the classic Hainan Kaya Butter Toast and Soft-boiled Eggs. Their White Coffee and Cham were truly delightful. We all enjoyed our breakfast and had a nice chill time here.

▶️ Artisan Kopitiam & Lounge 🍔🥗🍿🥃🥦☕🍗
This newly opened spot indulges diners with a delightful mix of Western favourites and local cuisine. The ambience was bright and welcoming, highlighted by eye-catching mural art.
We came the next day for brunch. I tried the Grilled Chicken, Patrick went for the Grilled Salmon Omega, Peter had the House Special Fried Rice, and Ann opted for the Burger Combo. The signature drinks, Kopi Magic and Hor Ka Sai, were absolutely fantastic. Portions were generous, and prices very reasonable. We all enjoyed the food and had a nice chill time here.
