Samarkand – “Silk Road Splendor in Mosaic and Minarets”

#holidayitinerary

📌 Location: Uzbekistan

Samarkand blew me away with its architecture and history. The Registan alone—three madrasahs covered in intricate blue tiles—is worth the trip. I walked through ancient markets, visited the majestic Shah-i-Zinda necropolis, and admired the blend of Persian, Turkic, and Islamic designs. There’s something deeply romantic about Samarkand’s role as a crossroads of cultures. Locals were warm and proud to share their city’s story. It’s a feast for the eyes and soul. Still off the beaten track for most travelers, it offers a glimpse into a grand era of trade, scholarship, and artistry.
