The brilliant experience with Celebrity Cruise

This trip on the Celebrity Cruise was a last-minute decision, and it turned out to be absolutely amazing! I finally discovered how fun a cruise can be!

The Celebrity Ascent departed from Athens, Greece, and stopped at Santorini, Mykonos, Kusadasi (Turkey), Malta, and finally Barcelona. The journey was 8 days and 7 nights, with two full days at sea. Every stop was somewhere I’d always wanted to visit — endless views of the crystal-blue sea and perfect sunshine!

🏨Accommodation: The ship offers both ocean-view rooms and inside cabins. I stayed in an inside cabin — the space was very well designed, perfectly fine for 2–3 people. Housekeeping came twice a day, making it feel like a moving five-star hotel. The best part: no need to carry luggage around — you just move yourself while everything else stays put! It’s perfect for traveling with kids or older family members, since you can choose to keep the schedule light or busy.

📒Daily schedule: Every day comes with a detailed itinerary. When docking, you can join group excursions, with plenty of options offered by the cruise line. And staying on board is never boring — every hour there are around 2–5 activities happening simultaneously: exhibitions, concerts, shows, jewelry appreciation, ship tours, and more.

🥣 Food & Dining:

Oceanview Café offers daily buffets with salads, Western and Asian dishes, cakes, fruit, and more. Coffee, juice, and water are unlimited, and the tropical fruit selection (melon, pineapple, cherries, etc.) was so satisfying.

Four themed restaurants (all included, drinks and alcohol extra) offer French, Italian, and more. If you go early, you can grab a sea-view window seat — simply beautiful!

There are also specialty restaurants (extra charge), including bistros and sushi, perfect for a fancier dining experience.

💃Activities:

🎨Art lovers can enjoy the gallery and guided exhibitions.

🎵Music fans can head to the theatre, outdoor bars, or Eden’s sea-view restaurant for live music, all high quality. On the second-to-last night, there was even a reproduction of Phantom of the Opera — such a surprise!

🏋️Fitness enthusiasts have both indoor and outdoor pools, plus smaller pools for privacy. Even just sunbathing is lovely. The gym treadmills face the stunning sea view, and there are fitness classes during the day.

🌇At Eden’s glass walls, the Sunset Bar, and the outdoor decks on floors 14 and 15, I witnessed countless views of the crystal-clear blue sea and breathtaking sunsets — truly healing moments.

🛂Cruise safety: Each time you board, you go through security checks and scan your Seapass. On the first day, passports are checked and collected for Schengen stamps (since the route passes through Schengen countries). Disembarkation also involves customs checks. The entire process was very clear and well organized.
