Santorini's Red Beach: A Must-Visit Spot, But Mind the Return Schedule!

When visiting Santorini, you absolutely must include Red Beach in your itinerary! My top recommendation is to take the bus there—it costs only €2 per trip, making it super convenient and budget-friendly.

📍 After getting off at the stop, it’s about a 10–15 minute walk to the beach. Around 5 minutes of the path is slightly rugged and requires climbing over some rocks, but it’s not too difficult. Even kids and elderly visitors can manage it as long as they proceed carefully and slowly.

🏖️ The Red Beach is truly stunningly red! When sunlight hits, the entire beach glows with a unique reddish-brown hue, creating a spectacular and dreamy contrast with the blue sea. It’s undoubtedly one of the most distinctive and must-visit beaches in Santorini!

⚠️ A little reminder: Return bus schedules are quite sparse, so be sure to keep track of the time! I recommend heading back immediately after sunset. If you miss the 5:50 PM bus, the next one isn’t until 7:20 PM, which means a very long wait. I’ve already fallen into this trap for you 😅, so please take note!

Overall, the scenery at Red Beach is absolutely worth the trip. The transportation is relatively convenient, and as long as you plan your return time well, you can enjoy a perfect and smooth day trip 💙
