5A-level scenic spot, Tianya Haijiao

Location: Tianya Town, Sanya City, Hainan Province

Introduction: Tianya Haijiao Stone refers to two rocks in a group of rocks several kilometers west of Sun and Moon Stone. The east side of Tianya Stone is engraved with the word "Tianya" written by Cheng Zhe, the governor of Yazhou in the 11th year of Yongzheng's reign; the word "Haijiao" on Haijiao Stone was engraved by Wang Yi, a major general of the Kuomintang who was recently transferred to the commander of the Qiongya Garrison Command on January 8, 1939.
There is a Nantian Pillar Stone on the east side of Tianya Haijiao Stone, and the words on it were written by Fan Yunti of Yong'an in the first year of Xuantong.
The entire Tianya Haijiao Scenic Area is full of strange rocks, and there are many relics of literati and poets on it, most of which were written by officials who were exiled here in the past dynasties. The beach in the entire scenic area stretches for several kilometers, and there are many shellfish washed up on the beach. This is the southernmost tip of China's large land area, and from here to the south is the endless South China Sea.
On May 8, 2009, Tianya Haijiao Stone Carvings were announced as the second batch of cultural relics protection units in Hainan Province.
