Majestic Goddess in the South China Sea

The Guanyin of Nanshan is a “must see” if you are visiting Sanya, China!

This statue stands at 108 meters (354ft) tall and has three unique sides. Pictures cannot capture the sheer magnitude of the bodhisattva Guanyin.

We took a DiDi from our hotel in Yalong Bay to visit and walked to the base of the statue after we purchased entrance tickets.

We were excited to learn that there is an entire, multi story shrine located inside of the statue and spent quite a while exploring the beauty inside. Once we reached the sixth floor, we left through an exit that took us to the base of the statue. The views were stunning!

There is a lot to explore around the area. I recommend spending at least half a day here! Bring your sunscreen. :)
