🔖Art Quarter Aranya in Hainan
🔵Address: 三亚市吉阳区阿那亚·三亚一期南区E18 (next to the Neighborhood Center, west side)
🔵Map location: Amap
🔵How to get there: Taxi from Dadonghai costs about 35 yuan
🔵Price: Free
The white houses with tiled roofs reminded us a lot of the Mediterranean – Turkey, or even more so, Greece. Aranya is a residential complex with a focus on creative spaces and architecture. Simply put, it's an art district. It is being built on the site of an abandoned project that had been frozen for 8 years. The area was later purchased by the Aranya company, and now it spans over 20 hectares with its own golf course, cinema, fitness center, spa, library, and various restaurants.
⬇️Why did we go there? We love unique locations, especially ones where every detail is a feast for the eyes. Aranya already has several restaurants and bars open. You can enjoy a cocktail on the terrace, visit a beauty salon, and there's also one of the best spas on the entire island – and no, we're not exaggerating: it's highly rated on Dianping.
🍃And the alleys here are incredibly beautiful: cacti, palm trees. Walking around felt like stepping into another dimension. We started with the Japanese garden (we'll write more about it separately). Then we strolled along the green hills by the golf course. We got caught in a short but heavy tropical downpour and took shelter under a massive banyan tree. We admired the houses, listened to the sounds of the rain, and felt like we were in a completely different place – as if in the mountains, not on a tropical island.
🏠Currently, only a small part of the quarter is open, and construction is ongoing, but even this section is impressive. For a moment, you forget you're in Hainan and feel like you're in a mountain village far from the sea. We'd love to come back here again – to spend a couple of days in one of these white houses and wake up to views of the hills.
🕜 By the way, Aranya has projects in other cities in China, such as Shanghai. All of them feature unique architecture and meticulous attention to detail. It's become a whole philosophy – creating spaces where people want to live and create.
