Peace and Wonder at the Hill of the Buddha

One of the most peaceful places we visited in Sapporo was the Hill of the Buddha. Surrounded by a field of lavender (or snow, depending on the season), the giant Buddha statue sits quietly inside a hill, with only its head showing from the outside.
Walking through the tunnel to reach the full view of the statue felt calming and a bit surreal. The moment we entered the open space and saw the Buddha in full framed perfectly by the sky above it took our breath away.
It’s a simple but powerful place. No crowds, no noise, just quiet beauty and a strong sense of peace. A visit here makes you pause and reflect.
If you're heading to Sapporo, this spot is definitely worth the short trip. A mix of nature, art, and calm all in one place.
