Lushan Waterfall, located in Jiujiang City, Jiangxi Province, is a major wonder of Lushan Mountain. The Lushan Waterfalls, comprising Sandiequan Waterfall, Kaixian Waterfall, Shimenjian Waterfall, Huanglongtan Waterfall, Xiufeng Waterfall, Wangjiapo Twin Waterfalls, and Yulianquan Waterfall, are considered one of China's ten most beautiful waterfalls.
The most famous of Lushan's waterfalls is Sandiequan, known as the mountain's greatest wonder. There's an old saying: " If you haven't visited Sandiequan, you haven't really been to Lushan . " The water from Sandiequan Falls flows from Dayue Mountain, slowly flowing for a while before passing over the back of Wulao Peak and traversing the mountain's stone steps, forming three folds, hence the name.
The Lushan Waterfalls are diverse and captivating. Tang Dynasty poet Li Bai's famous line from "Viewing the Lushan Waterfalls" is well-known and celebrated: " Sunlight shines on the incense burner, creating purple smoke. From afar, I see the waterfall hanging over the riverbank. It plunges three thousand feet, as if the Milky Way falls from the sky . "
The rainy season is the best time to visit Lushan Waterfall. From July to September , you can avoid the heat and appreciate the unique charm of the waterfall.
