Nanzoin Temple is the head temple of the Sasaguri Shikoku Pilgrimage and is also a special head temple of the Koyasan Shingon sect! The Shakanehanzo, built in 1995, is 41m long, 11m tall, and weighs 300 tons, making it one of the largest bronze statues in the world. Inside the statue is a room containing the remains of the Buddha, and you can also step on the sand of the 88 temples of Shikoku (there is a fee to visit the statue inside). Only available in June (about one week). The hydrangea pond and the autumn leaves are especially popular tourist spots. Fees: 200 yen per person for groups of 8 or more, advance reservations required. Visit inside the statue: 500 yen (prayer and offering fee) ✼••┈┈┈ ┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈┈••✼
