Graduating to Nanzoin Temple is not difficult. You can take the 🚉JR train from Hakata Station and get off at Sasaguri Station. Get off in front of the temple and walk up the hill along the path. You can't use the Fukuoka tourist pass, but you can use the JR North Pass.

The temple grounds are spacious, shady, and have great air. There are many smaller paths to worship the gods.

But what you can't miss is the world's longest bronze reclining Buddha. People like to come here to pray for luck, money, and luck from gambling, hoping to be as lucky as the abbot who won the lottery twice. For Japanese monks, buying lottery tickets is not against the Buddhist precepts.

This temple is the starting point of the Shingon pilgrimage.

Open every day and there is no admission fee.
