Sasang Station, Sasang-gu, Busan, Busan Gimhae Light Rail Transit Direction
Sasang Station is the gateway to Busan. Just like we take the AREX from Seoul to Gimpo or Incheon Airport, the most efficient way to travel from Gimhae Airport to Busan is by taking the light rail. Aside from the KTX, it's the most efficient way to get from the airport. Today, I'm wrapping up my 5-day, 4-night trip to Busan, and I'd like to introduce you to the pork soup restaurant I ate at.

Mokchon Pork Soup
The restaurant's name is Mokchon Pork Soup, but it feels more like a pork rib, duck, and meat restaurant than a pork soup specialty restaurant. It reminds me of a grandma's restaurant in Haeundae.

Even though it was past 1 p.m., the restaurant was surprisingly crowded. While waiting for my order of pork soup, watermelon and geotjeori (fermented soybeans) were brought out as side dishes.

I've been to a lot of pork soup restaurants in Busan, but each one is unique and full of character. I once asked an old lady at Gukje Market where the best pork soup in Busan was, and she replied that almost all of them were delicious, and this proves her point.

Mokchon pork soup was... well, decent and clean. The only disappointment was that it lacked the rich pork broth of Halmaejib or Obok. Pork soup should be incredibly rich from the start, and that was a bit disappointing.

The meat was thick and of good quality, but it seemed to be the reason they served geotjeori separately. The thick meat paired well with the geotjeori, and the noodles were also refillable. The highlight of the pork soup is the noodles, and the fact that you can refill the noodles makes it even more filling.

However, this restaurant doesn't provide separate seasoning sauce (dadegi) or pepper. I wouldn't recommend it to those who prefer spicy soup. I, too, enjoy my pork soup with a spicy kick, but without the seasoning, it felt like something important was missing. So, while the taste was good, it felt a little lacking.

However, its location right in front of Sasang Station offers quick access to the airport. Given the fact that soup is a quick meal and easy to leave, this restaurant deserves high marks.
