Reflections in the River

Down near the water, the Alcázar’s reflection glows softly. The sky has gone from blue to violet, and the lamps above make the stone shimmer on the surface like molten gold. The cool air carries the scent of wet earth and pine. It’s quiet — just the rustle of trees and the distant hum of Segovia preparing for night. The castle above seems untouched by time, its image doubled in the river, eternal and calm.
