Sanbangsan Mountain is located in the southwest of Jeju Island. It is a bell-shaped volcano standing majestically above the plain. Its shape is unique and magnificent when viewed from a distance. At an altitude of about 150 meters, there is a sea cave called Shanfang Cave. The cave is about 10 meters long and about 5 meters wide and high. It is known as one of the ten scenic spots in Yingzhou.
As you enter Sanbangsan Mountain, you can see Sanbangsa Temple on the left side of the entrance and Pumensa Temple’s Jimiebao Palace on the right side. Going up the stone steps between the two temples, you can find a mountain cave temple. On the roadside in front of Sanfangshan Mountain, there is a smoke tower, which was an important communication facility in ancient times. It could quickly transmit emergency information by lighting torches or releasing smoke.
