Oedolgae Rock, located in Seohong-dong, Seogwipo-si, Jeju-do, is a truly captivating natural landmark that comes highly recommended. This solitary rock formation, rising dramatically from the clear blue waters, is designated as a scenic spot and a natural monument, and for good reason.
💞Reasons to Recommend: Visitors are treated to breathtaking panoramic views that extend beyond Oedolgae itself to include the nearby Munseom, Beomseom, and Saeseom islands. The scenery is undeniably beautiful and offers a refreshing escape. Having recently visited with my spouse, I can attest to the tranquil and healing atmosphere, perfect for a leisurely stroll and soaking in the picturesque surroundings.
One of the significant advantages of visiting Oedolgae is that admission is free, making it an accessible destination for all travelers exploring Seogwipo. The walking paths are well-maintained, allowing for easy and enjoyable exploration of the area. Furthermore, it's apparently a fantastic spot to witness the sunset, adding another layer of appeal to this scenic location. I personally hope for another opportunity to return and experience the beauty of the setting sun here.
💰Average Price per Person: While parking directly at the entrance without a fee can be challenging due to limited spaces, there is a paid parking lot available. Thankfully, the parking fee is a flat rate of 2,000 KRW regardless of the duration, which is quite reasonable and allows for a relaxed visit without worrying about time constraints.
🕰️Business Hours: The parking lot operating hours are from 9 AM to 6 PM between April and October, and from 9 AM to 5:30 PM between November and March.
Having visited Oedolgae multiple times now, I am consistently impressed by its majestic presence. The 20-meter-tall rock with its 10-meter circumference stands uniquely in the ocean, instantly drawing your gaze. The view of Oedolgae against the backdrop of the deep blue sea, flanked by the rugged cliffs and the distant Munseom Island, creates a harmonious and moving landscape. Each visit offers a fresh wave of admiration, solidifying Oedolgae as an unmissable highlight of any trip to Seogwipo.
