Chasing Sunrise at Seongsan Ilchulbong

#summervacay Dragged myself outta bed at like 4AM to catch the famous sunrise at Seongsan Ilchulbong, and honestly? Zero regrets. This volcanic crater on Jeju's eastern edge is wild, it literally looks like a giant stone crown just chilling by the sea. The hike up is short but steep, all stairs, and your thighs will definitely notice. But once you hit the top? Holy views.
The ocean stretches forever, and if you’re lucky (like I was), the sun peeks over the horizon in this glowing, golden moment that makes you forget you’re running on no sleep and convenience store coffee. It gets crowded fast though, so go early or prepare to elbow your way to the railings. The whole area is super photogenic too, with cliffs, wildflowers, and Haenyeo divers doing their thing nearby. Seongsan Ilchulbong is one of those spots that totally lives up to the hype. Fast hike, epic sunrise, memories for days.
