Myeongdong's specialty Premium abalone porridge 👍🏻 is worth a try

I came to Korea for a few days and stayed at Sejong Hotel in Myeongdong. I unexpectedly discovered the famous "Suiyuan" porridge shop nearby!

Korea is also famous for its rice, so its porridge is also famous (of course there are many snacks 😁). We arrived at around nine in the morning and planned to have breakfast, but we didn't expect to have to queue. During this period, I found that many tourists, especially Japanese, would come here specifically to taste the abalone porridge. ah! It turns out this is a restaurant recommended by a Japanese magazine, no wonder.

It took about 20 minutes to wait before I was able to enter the store. Although the shop is small, it seems to be a family-run business. It is crowded in the morning and the staff's English conversation is limited. Fortunately, Meun has Chinese, English, Korean and Japanese translations, and the staff are also polite.

We ordered the most expensive Premium abalone porridge, which was labeled Best Porridge. It cost 22,000 won, which is equivalent to about HK$150, which is not cheap at all. In fact, there are also ordinary versions of abalone porridge, ginseng chicken porridge, vegetable porridge, etc. (see the menu picture for reference), but when you come here, you just want to eat the most famous one, don’t you think?

There is cold water and tableware on the table. The waiter first brought a plate of three appetizers. The kimchi squid was surprisingly special. It was not spicy and was homemade. If you like it, you can buy it as a souvenir (price and picture attached). You can refill it for free after eating it 🤩!

The porridge is here, warm and not too hot. It looks beautiful and tastes very "motherly". It's delicious, without any MSG or saltiness. It has flavor but isn't strong. You'll feel better after eating it (it was 6 degrees that morning). Then I found that most people around me also ordered this one😊.

Although the place is small, it feels neat and the porridge is delicious. If I come again, I will eat here many times. Recommended to people who like to eat mom feel porridge☺️.
