Seongsu-dong: A hidden treasure bookstore on the second floor: Same Dust

As someone who likes to wander around downtown Seoul, I discovered a low-key, artistic independent bookstore in Seongsu-dong - Same Dust (쎄임더스트). Founded in 2021 by British photographers Alan Eglinton and Eunji Park, the bookstore specializes in photography books and works of art on paper. Hidden in the space on the second floor, if you don’t pay close attention, you may miss it.

The most fascinating thing about Same Dust, besides the selection of photography books, is the mottled walls that bear traces of time. The exhibition theme is changed every two months to showcase the works of different photographers. There are also many artists' handicrafts in the store, such as limited edition prints, photographic postcards, etc. Each piece carries the creator's unique perspective and emotion.

For book lovers who love photography and art, this is definitely a treasure bookstore worth exploring.
