A Winter Walk Alone at Gyeonghuigung Park
Yesterday (February 18th) afternoon, I sat alone on the wide lawn of Gyeonghuigung Park and enjoyed the winter sunshine. Sitting in the shade of a 300-year-old ginkgo tree in this place that used to be the king's villa during the Joseon Dynasty, time seemed to slow down! While reading the sign, the security guard told me, "There's a secret staircase at the end of the west wall." As a bonus, I found a stone staircase that still has traces from the Gabo Reform in 1894.
📌 Key points for solo travelers
Hidden spot: Bench in the pine forest behind Taereungjeon → A quiet reading spot
Photo zone: Near the sundial at the main entrance → Shadow art in the winter sun
Recommendation: 'Gung Coffee' next to the park, black sesame cream latte (6,500 won) to prevent hand trembling
🚨 Notes
Closed on Tuesdays (Open from Wednesday to Monday 09:00~18:30)
No entry when the lawn is frozen (many slipping accidents)
Security guard approval required for tripod use
Around 5 o'clock, I forgot the cold while listening to the winter wind blowing through the Seokjojeon ruins. The security guard told me, "**It's open at night during the cherry blossom season in spring"**, so I looked forward to the next season! 🌸
