
Zeya, located in Zeya Town in western Ouhai District, is commonly known as the "West Yandang Mountain." Originally known as "Zhaixia," Zeya is the Wenzhou dialect transliteration of "Zhaixia." Near Xiyan lies the Zeya Reservoir. The area boasts a breathtaking canyon of waterfalls. The three folds of the Nine Dragons Waterfall form a curtain of water over a hundred meters high, resembling nine dragons spouting water. The Crocodile Pond, nestled in the rock face, boasts crystal-clear water. The Pearl Rock, with a diameter of 23 meters, is known as the "World's No. 1 Pearl."
Wenzhou has a mid-subtropical monsoon climate zone, with significant alternation between winter and summer monsoons, moderate temperatures, distinct four seasons, and abundant rainfall.
All seasons are suitable for visiting, but spring and autumn are the best.
It is characterized by a group of waterfalls, clear lakes, secluded gorges and strange rocks, and integrates the simple and wild mountain village style. There are many famous scenic spots such as Qipujian, Jinkeng Gorge, Gaoshanjiao, Zhuyan, Xishan, Longxi, Qiyun and Wufeng.
Seven Waterfalls
There are seven waterfalls in one stream, each one higher than the other, and each waterfall is better than the other; the first waterfall is a deep waterfall that seems to hang from the sky, roaring like thunder; the Dragon and Tiger Waterfall, the Nine Waterfalls, and the Falling Cloud Waterfall are connected, reaching a height of more than 120 meters, with different shapes, majestic and spectacular.
Zeya Rafting
A recommended Chinese sports tourism project, this rafting experience boasts a maximum drop of 12 meters. Its reputation of "making men laugh and women scream" is well-deserved; it's truly thrilling and well worth a try. (Open May 1st - October 1st)
Jinkeng Gorge
Jinkeng Gorge Scenic Area is one of the main scenic spots in Zeya. It is known as the "Grand Canyon of Southern Zhejiang" and "the No. 1 Gorge in Wenzhou" for its picturesque scenery, lush forests and green bamboos, dangerous peaks and secluded caves, strange rocks and strange stones, beautiful waterfalls and clear pools.
Alpine Corner
Numerous caves exist, including the tranquil and secluded Yuanyang Cave and the cool, warm-in-winter Qingfeng Cave. The lakes within the area are crystal clear and never dry up. 245 plant species from 82 genera grow in the vast mountains, including precious species like ginkgo, century-old silver laurel, and yew. Over 30 species of wildlife, including woolly monkeys and wild deer, roam the mountains, further enhancing the charm of Zeya's landscape.
