Josun Palace Seoul | A Subtly Luxurious Hotel Fit for a Chaebol

Among the top luxury hotels in Seoul, Josun Palace (officially known as 'Josun Palace, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Seoul Gangnam', but often referred to as 'Josun Palace Hotel') is one of the newest and most talked-about.

Upon entering the hotel, you can immediately feel the opulence. The public areas are often frequented by well-dressed elites. The hotel has also been a filming location for Korean dramas. The overall design, crafted by Moroccan interior design firm Humbert & Poyet, is very lavish—featuring extensive use of metallic lines and marble materials, with sofas upholstered in various velvet fabrics, and large floral arrangements adding to the luxurious and stylish ambiance.

🔸 Room Design
The rooms are much more understated compared to the public areas, with beige and light green as the main colors, accented with gold details, making them perfect for photos. However, the only thing that felt a bit out of place to me was the old-fashioned dark wood design of the desk and wardrobe, which clashed with the otherwise minimalist and high-end style of the room.

🔸 Room Types
The hotel offers a wide range of room types, with basic rooms and suites divided into categories like State/Junior, Master, Grand Master, etc. Non-suite rooms also have view options. If you choose a Bay View room, you can enjoy stunning views of the Han River and Lotte Tower. During my stay, all suites were fully booked on the first night (Saturday), so I was given a corner room on the highest floor (non-suite) and moved to a basic suite the next day. The difference between the two wasn't significant; the basic suite also features an open-plan design with a single bathroom, but with a larger shower and walk-in closet.

🔸 Dining Options
The hotel's dining options are top-notch, including Eatanic Garden, which is listed among Asia's 50 Best Restaurants, and Great Hong Yuan, which offers high-end Cantonese cuisine. There's also the all-day dining restaurant Constans and the highly atmospheric bar 1914. Whether you're in the mood for fine dining or a casual drink, there are excellent choices available.
