JW Marriott Hotel Seoul's The Lounge Rooftop Garden: Burberry Afternoon Tea

JW Marriott Hotel Seoul's The Lounge Rooftop Garden offers a charming café experience with Burberry Afternoon Tea.

This special collaboration with the British luxury brand Burberry features their tableware, allowing guests to enjoy a private and leisurely afternoon amidst the blue skies and lush greenery.

Before the summer heat arrives, the large sunshades effectively block sunlight, creating a cool and breezy atmosphere. The weather was perfect, with clear skies after the rain, although the wind was quite strong.

Unlike The Lounge's regular afternoon tea, which requires walk-in guests to queue, this particular experience is hosted by The Lounge but takes place at The Margaux Grill, making it the only venue that accepts reservations.

Guests first visit The Lounge on the 8th floor to confirm their reservation, and are then kindly escorted to The Margaux Grill on the 7th floor. From there, staff guide you to the outdoor terrace table, providing an elegant escort service that makes you feel pampered even before placing your order.

Pairing perfectly with Burberry's aesthetic, we ordered André Clouet Rosé Champagne, which complemented the two-tier tray presentation. Scones and savory items were served separately on individual plates.

The rich jams and clotted cream enhanced the scones' flavor, making them absolutely delightful. The rosé champagne paired wonderfully with the savory dishes, and the café latte was also excellent.

As for the sweets, they were exceptionally sweet—more so than other places—offering an intense sugary experience. While the savory items were of high quality, the dessert selection felt somewhat repetitive in composition and presentation, which could become a bit overwhelming.

The outdoor setting provides a sense of openness, but don't expect a stunning view—it's simply a rooftop. However, the garden landscaping is thoughtfully designed, and the beer garden that opens in summer seems safe, with high fences around the building. Thank you.
