Exploring the Sangmundang Hall and its surroundings within the Myeongjeongjeon area of Changgyeonggung Palace offered a unique blend of royal formality and serene charm. Sangmundang, located opposite Myeongjeongjeon, exuded a refined elegance that seemed to complement the authority of the main hall. The modest building, perched on a raised platform, showcased a restrained beauty that was neither ostentatious nor plain, perfectly embodying the understated aesthetics of Joseon palace architecture.🦋
The expansive courtyard surrounding Myeongjeongjeon, along with the neatly arranged rank stones, evoked the solemn atmosphere of past royal assemblies. Together with the nearby pavilions, they created a majestic and harmonious scene. The sunlight reflecting off the tiled roofs and colorful dancheong patterns added a unique charm to the palace, while the gentle breeze passing through the columns seemed to carry the essence of centuries past.🍁
Spending time exploring Myeongjeongjeon, Sangmundang, and the surrounding pavilions was a meaningful experience that deepened my appreciation for the historical significance and architectural beauty of Changgyeonggung Palace.🌳
