Enjoy the special ganjang gejang in the trendy Hannam-dong area

Today I went to my favorite area, Hannam-dong, to eat soy sauce!
This area is home to many trendy Korean cafes, so combining a cafe hop with a stop for some soy sauce is a great idea!

Chang Jin-young, the chef behind this restaurant's name, has spent over 10 years working to address the common drawbacks of soy sauce—its salty and fishy smell.

Recently, its popularity has skyrocketed, leading to the opening of a second location near Gimpo Airport.

Today, I ordered two servings of soy sauce, and it was absolutely filling. The side dishes were delicious, as were the yangnyeom gejang and oyster kimchi! We also had soy sauce (shrimp)!

If you like crab roe, I recommend the 명품게장 (luxury sauce) instead of the regular soy sauce. Both are available for two people, and you can order medium portions, but even just one regular and one luxury item seems like a great option.

Also, don't forget to try the Seungnyung (burnt rice soup), seaweed soup, and sikhye at the self-service bar! The seaweed soup in particular is different from the typical seaweed soup and has a crab-based broth flavor!

You'll probably have to wait, but it's worth it! I'd like it to remain a secret favorite, because I'd be worried it might become even more popular and difficult to find (lol). This is already my nth visit, but I'll definitely be coming back to this place. ♡
