Located on the 4th floor of D Tower in Gwanghwamun, Manrijihwa serves Korean-style eel rice bowls. The upscale atmosphere and refined cuisine make it a great place to bring guests or for a gathering. (There were quite a few international guests when I visited.)

If you order a Korean set meal, you'll also get a fermented soybean paste salad and dessert. I personally really enjoyed the fermented soybean paste salad.

The eel set menu includes a regular rice bowl set, a salt-grilled eel set, and the signature Manrijihwa Ihap set. Of these, the Manrijihwa Ihap set is a Korean-style eel rice bowl and is the most popular. The dish is finished with fried green onions and ginger and a bowl of broth, which is truly delicious.

The ginger syrup-topped pudding served for dessert is a must-try, as it's a treat you won't find anywhere else.

If you're looking for a great eel rice bowl restaurant in Gwanghwamun that's perfect for seniors or guests, I highly recommend Manrijihwa.
