Unhyeongung is an architectural gem that showcases a different kind of beauty than Seoul's other palaces. The buildings are modest yet elegant, built with natural wood and a simple, unadorned aesthetic that emphasizes their traditional design. We found that the complex, though smaller than its grander counterparts, is perfect for a leisurely stroll. The centerpiece, the Norakdang Hall, is particularly impressive as it was the venue for Emperor Gojong's royal wedding ceremony. The reenactment of this ceremony, which takes place on-site, is a unique and captivating cultural experience. The peaceful atmosphere and beautiful architecture make it an ideal place for photography and for simply escaping the city's crowds for a moment of tranquility.
