Notre Dame Auxiliatrice - Bright colors and a picturesque view of Mauritius

On our trip to Mauritius we decided to include a stop at the church of Notre-Dame Auxiliatrice.
Located along the coast in the far north of Mauritius, precisely at Cap Malheureux, about 20 minutes drive from Pointe aux Canonniers, parking is very limited (being a residential area).
It is a small Catholic church, made entirely of wood, whose peculiarity is to have a bright red roof that contrasts strongly with the turquoise blue of the ocean.
A small garden welcomes the church and allows you to take beautiful panoramic photos.
The church of Notre-Dame Auxiliatrice is open to the public, you can freely enter and admire the architectural simplicity. A special feature: the holy water font was made using a shell of considerable size.
To visit this small church it takes about 30 minutes. We went on a Monday morning (about 9.30am) and there were very few tourists; also the light for taking pictures was perfect.
It is definitely a must for the uniqueness and picturesque view of the coast.
I recommend it
