Modest Cafe: Newtro Korean Desserts in the Heart of Myeongdong

#SeptemberTravelSupport Located quietly on the first floor of The Zone Euljiro Tower, near Exit 1-1 of Euljiro 1-ga Station, between Myeongdong and Euljiro, The Zone Euljiro Tower is open daily from 10 AM to 9:30 PM. This impressive space combines Japanese sensibility with Korean desserts. 😊
Stepping inside, you'll be greeted by a wooden interior, arched structures, and walls adorned with traditional patterns. The meticulous attention to detail, even down to the smallest details, makes you stop in your tracks. Monaka ice cream and chestnut jelly are signature dishes, and the desserts, served in a clean, porcelain bowl, are already captivating.
The desserts live up to expectations. The monaka has a delightful texture, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, while the chestnut jelly, made with whole chestnuts, offers a rich flavor without being overly sweet. The red bean shaved ice is a perfect balance of soft milk ice and sweet condensed milk, making it a particularly recommended choice on hot days. 😊
It's a great place to enjoy with coffee, and the menu also features traditional teas, making it a perfect pairing with Korean desserts. The quiet and calm atmosphere is ideal for conversation or simply spending some quiet time alone. They even have gift sets of yanggaeng (sweet red bean jelly) and beautiful ceramics, making them perfect souvenirs.
