Spring's Lush Greenery and Vitality
I visited in late spring, and the Secret Garden was a beautiful burst of lush, vibrant green. While everyone understandably raves about the autumn foliage, the Huwon in spring and summer offers a completely different, refreshing experience. The foliage is incredibly dense, providing cool, deep shade perfect for a warm Seoul afternoon, making the walking quite comfortable. The Aeryeonji Pond was full of budding lotuses, reflecting the clear blue sky beautifully and symbolizing purity and integrity. Our guide pointed out a stunning Chinese Juniper tree said to be over 300 years old, a testament to the garden's longevity and careful preservation. It felt like walking through a private, royal forest rather than a manicured garden. A must-see for nature lovers!
