Ushimado has long flourished as a port for waiting for wind and tide on the Western Japan sea route. It has been mentioned in works such as the Manyoshu and the Yamagashu. 𓂃𓈒𓏸
It's such a beautiful port town that it's been called the Aegean Sea of Japan!
Here are four recommended spots in Ushimado. 🌿
① Ushimado Tenjin Shrine (📷3)
A shrine offering panoramic views of Ushimado's townscape and the ocean. ⛩️
The view of the Seto Inland Sea beyond the torii gate is truly beautiful. ✨
② Opusto (📷4-5)
A natural yeast bakery located on Shiomachi Karakoto Street. 🥖
From full-course breads to small snacks, they have it all, perfect for when you're feeling a bit hungry!
