The Blue Mosque, with its beautiful white and blue exterior, is officially called the Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Mosque. It is the fourth largest mosque in the world and one of the largest in Malaysia. Its total area is about 14 hectares and it can accommodate up to 24,000 people.
The Blue Mosque, which features four minarets (towers) over 140 meters high, was completed in 1988 after a five-year construction period. The interior of the mosque is full of geometric tiles and decorations, making it well worth seeing. The pure white corridor with beautiful carvings on the dome, the open courtyard, and the stained glass are must-sees.
It's a lot of fun because you can actually go inside and receive an explanation! ...
