Explore historical culture and natural scenery while staying at the luxurious and comfortable Sheraton Hotel

Have you ever thought about taking a vacation on an island with a long history and rich culture? Have you ever thought about relaxing on an island with beautiful natural landscapes and ecological reserves? Have you ever thought about enjoying an island with luxurious resort hotels and delicious restaurants? If your answer is yes, then you must visit Chongming Island!

Chongming Island is the third largest island in China and the largest alluvial island at the mouth of a river in Asia. It is located at the mouth of the Yangtze River and is under the jurisdiction of Chongming District, Shanghai, although a small part is governed by Haimen District and Qidong City in Jiangsu Province. Chongming Island emerged from the water during the early Tang Dynasty, forming two small sandbars, East Sha and West Sha. After a thousand years of silt accumulation, Chongming Island has expanded to its present size. The island has a rich heritage of historical and cultural sites, such as Baotown Guangming Street, Yingdong Resort, and Dongtan Wetland.

For my trip to Chongming Island, I chose to stay at the Sheraton Chongming Hotel in Shanghai. This is a luxurious resort hotel located at the eastern end of Chongming Island, about an hour's drive from downtown Shanghai. The hotel has 288 spacious villas, each equipped with modern facilities and comfortable bedding. I stayed in a room facing the garden, with green lawns and flowers outside the window. The room has a large bathtub for soaking and relaxing. There is also a balcony where I could sit and read or drink tea.

The hotel also offers a variety of activities and facilities, such as an indoor heated swimming pool, a fitness center, bicycle rental, and a game room. My favorite was the hotel's two restaurants, which offer American, Chinese, and Asian cuisine. For breakfast, I had a hamburger and a glass of milk at the restaurant. For lunch, I had a bowl of beef noodles and a plate of cold dishes at the restaurant. For dinner, I had a Japanese grilled meat dish and a glass of sake at the restaurant.

In addition to enjoying the hotel, I also visited some attractions around the hotel, such as Dongtan Wetland, Baotown Guangming Street, and Yingdong Resort. Dongtan Wetland is the largest wetland park in China, with a rich variety of birds and plants.

In summary, my trip to Chongming Island was very satisfying. I was able to experience the charm of historical culture, admire the beauty of natural scenery, and stay at the luxurious and comfortable Sheraton Hotel, enjoying delicious food and service.
