"I spent 5 incredible days in Shanghai, and it was a whirlwind adventure! From the moment I arrived, I knew I was in for a treat. The city's futuristic skyline, vibrant streets, and rich history made me feel like I was in a different world.
I stayed in a stylish hotel in the French Concession, which cost around $500 for the entire stay. From there, I explored the city using the efficient metro system, which cost around $0.30 per ride.
Here are some of the top places I visited:
- The Bund: free entrance (I took in the stunning views of the Huangpu River)
- Shanghai Tower: $20 entrance fee (I saw breathtaking views of the city from the observation deck)
- Yu Garden: $5 entrance fee (I explored the beautiful classical Chinese garden)
- Nanjing Road: free entrance (I shopped and snacked along the famous pedestrian street)
- French Concession: free entrance (I explored the charming streets, cafes, and boutiques)
I also took a day trip to the ancient water town of Zhujiajiao, which cost around $50 for a return bus ticket. I saw the traditional canals, bridges, and architecture.
The food in Shanghai was amazing, and I tried everything from street food to high-end restaurants. A traditional Shanghainese dinner cost around $20, while a fancy dinner cost around $100.
Here's a breakdown of my expenses:
- Flights: $800
- Accommodation (5 nights): $500
- Food and drink: $300
- Transportation (metro, buses, etc.): $20
- Activities and entrance fees: $100
- Total: $1,720
Shanghai, you have my heart! I can't wait to come back and explore more of what this incredible city has to offer."
