The Realm of Glass - Shanghai Museum of Glass.

Shanghai Museum of Glass is located at No. 685 Changjiang West Road, Baoshan District, and was formerly the Shanghai Glass Instrument Factory No. 1. It was established on May 18, 2011, under the supervision of the Shanghai Cultural Relics Management Committee, initiated and funded by Shanghai Light Industry Glass Co., Ltd., and is a non-profit private museum.

The museum was converted from a glass factory, and the building has undergone a transformation from industrialization to modernization. On the basis of retaining the original spatial structure and details, it has been endowed with artistic appreciation, interactive entertainment, and regenerative creativity. The museum has multiple exhibition halls, displaying a wealth of glass artworks, including glass products from ancient and modern times, and the historical evolution of glass craftsmanship.

Shanghai Museum of Glass is not only an exhibition venue, but also a new concept park that integrates culture, art, design, sightseeing, parent-child activities, and aesthetic lifestyle, with the main purpose of sharing experiences. It breaks the dull style of traditional museums, and through various innovative display methods and interactive experiences, allows visitors to gain a deeper understanding of the charm of glass art. From May 1, 2024, the permanent exhibition of the Shanghai Museum of Glass will be fully upgraded and iterated, bringing a new experience to visitors.
