Jinze Ancient Town, Qingpu, Shanghai

Jinze Ancient Town is located at the intersection of Shanghai, Jiangsu, and Zhejiang. It is a place where Wu and Yue cultures meet, and where traditional, Shanghai, and red cultures blend. It is a national historic and cultural town, a national sanitary town, and one of China's first sports and leisure towns. Jinze Ancient Town was built during the Tang and Song dynasties and has a history of 1,300 years. It is known for its "bridge and temple culture." Seven ancient bridges built during the Song, Yuan, Ming, and Qing dynasties are still preserved in the town, earning it the reputation of "the first bridge town in Jiangnan." Zhao Mengfu, a famous calligrapher of the Yuan dynasty, lived in Jinze for a long time. Chen Yun, a revolutionary of the older generation, left his first battle footprints in Jinze. Xu Chongde, a leading figure in Chinese administrative law, was born in Jinze.
