|Fengjing Ancient Town.
There are many ancient towns in Jiangnan, but this one, which I didn't have high expectations for, gave me a different feeling.
1⃣️ Before coming here, I found out that this ancient town has a "Wu-Yue Boundary River," which is the boundary between Zhejiang and Jiangsu. This piqued my interest a bit. My first destination was this boundary.
2⃣️ Grilled dried tofu. I bought a portion for CNY 15. Since it was cold today, the lady boss processed it a bit. It was warm and delicious.
3⃣️ Shaomai. There are many shops selling shaomai in the ancient town, most of which are CNY 15 per portion. I tried the shaomai from Fengjing Mama, which was CNY 15 per portion. They make it fresh when you order, and it's very juicy and delicious. Honestly, it was a bit surprising❗
4⃣️ Tangyuan. This is a very popular tangyuan shop, and there were many people when I arrived. However, the turnover was quick. Tangyuan is CNY 4 each, and I ordered the fresh meat, sesame, sweet potato, and red bean paste ones. I found the fresh meat and sesame ones delicious😋.
5⃣️ Dried tofu❗ Why is dried tofu mentioned again❗ Because this is a factory store, and the black dried tofu is CNY 12 per jin. I bought CNY 10 worth, and when I got home, I felt like I should have bought more. It was really delicious.
6⃣️ Dingti. I went to a century-old shop outside the ancient town. The dingti here is CNY 68 each, and I think it tastes okay. The sauce is really good.
7⃣️ Fengjing Huadiao. I bought it at a supermarket next to the ancient town, as I didn't see it inside the ancient town.
There are many shops selling zongzi in the ancient town, and many offer a buy-five-get-one-free deal. If you like zongzi, you can give it a try. The prices are about the same.
