Weekend Getaway|Xujiahui Park

Xujiahui Park is located at 889 Zhaojiabang Road, Xuhui District, Shanghai. It stretches from Hengshan Road in the north to Zhaojiabang Road in the south, bordered by Tianping Road to the west and Wanping Road to the east. It is an open green park. The park was formerly the site of the Greater China Rubber Factory, the original China Record Factory (about 3.7 hectares), and old residential areas around Wanping Road.

Xujiahui Park preserves the commemorative chimney and the Baidai Small Building, combining modern garden design with traditional elements. Attractions include the Fountain of Hope, the scenic sky bridge, and Hengshan Road Garden.

The small patches of tulips in Xujiahui Park are already in full bloom, and large areas of white magnolia are just beginning to flower. Cherry blossoms and crabapple flowers will require about half a month of patience.

Take a stroll on the tree-shaded scenic sky bridge and enjoy the distant views. The black swans in the pond attract children to feed them, but please be mindful of safety near the water. Adults must keep a close watch on children.

An oasis in the bustling city, it is the perfect place for exercise, leisure, flower viewing, and family activities.

On warm spring days, bring your children and your camera and take a walk in Xujiahui Park.

Perhaps, like me, you have watched this area transform and relocate. Every visit to Xujiahui Park brings back memories of small moments from the past, such as the chimney of the Greater China Rubber Factory and the old sign of the China Baidai Record Company.
