Tulips are blooming in Xujiahui Park

It’s raining today, a drizzling rain typical of early spring in Jiangnan, with a hint of chill in the air. Passersby unconsciously quicken their pace.
As usual, I pass by Xuhui Park and the little red house. The rain has kept away the usual bustling crowd. The park is so quiet that you can hear the sound of raindrops. The brick-red walls are soaked by the rain, turning into a watercolor painting.
The chill of early spring is unknowingly melted by the flowers in the rain, and I stop in my tracks.
The white magnolias tremble in the wind, holding bone china cups, their petal tips dripping with cold pearl-like light, as if to fill the entire early spring chill; the pink peach blossoms in the rain look like freshly blossomed rouge tears, frozen on silk-like thin petals; the purple-leaf plums have pure white and pale pink petals draped over dark branches like wedding gowns; deep within the rain curtain, tulip spike-shaped buds are tightly wrapped in satin swaddling, waiting for a sunny morning to arrive.
Jiangnan in the rain is truly wonderful, and the flowers in the rain are truly beautiful.
