This was my second time visiting Gongqing Forest Park, and I specifically avoided the May Day crowd—totally worth it! 🚶♀️🌸 The park is massive and perfect for a full day out, but if you’re short on time, this 3-hour route is just right for a refreshing half-day walk filled with scenic spots and seasonal blooms.
🕒 Basic Info
Recommended time: 3–4 hours
Opening hours: 5:00–18:00
Ticket: 🎫 Usually free or very affordable
Best Entry Point: West Gate
🚇 How to Get There
Metro: Line 8 → Get off at Shiguang Road Station (市光路站)
Exit from Exit 4, then take the free shuttle into the park 🚐 (see map P10 for shuttle stop)
📍 Suggested Walking Route
A circular path starting and ending at the West Gate
West Gate Entry
Less crowded and closest to the shuttle stop. Good starting point!
Grand Lawn (大草坪)
Open space, perfect for relaxing or taking photos with the tall trees and open sky 🌤️
Floral Arts Hall (花艺馆)
Seasonal displays; worth a quick peek 🌼
Monet Garden (莫奈花园)
⚠️ Note: Not many flowers currently, and the “Monet Flower Ladder” seems to be removed.
Still a peaceful stop with nice landscaping
Hydrangea Garden (八仙花园)
Check if the hydrangeas are blooming—they’re usually a summer highlight! 💜
