Leigutai, a provincial-level forest park located in Hanwang Town, Ziyang County, borders Hanyin and Hanbin, offering convenient transportation. Leigutai belongs to the Fenghuang Mountain Range and is said to have earned its name from the scene where Zhang Fei beat a drum to command his troops. The park, covering 585 hectares, boasts 28 unique peaks and strongholds, as well as 42 scenic spots. It is a renowned Taoist mountain, known as the "Little Wudang of Southern Shaanxi" and the "First Peak of Guannan."
The Leigutai Scenic Area boasts stunning natural scenery, magnificent Taoist architecture, and lush forests of verdant pines and cypresses. Panoramic views of mountains and seas of mist stretch as far as the eye can see. Visitors can relax and de-stress while admiring the natural scenery and appreciating Taoist culture.
The subtropical continental monsoon climate is characterized by a humid and mild climate with distinct four seasons, abundant rainfall, and a long frost-free period. Its characteristics are cold and dry winters, rainy summers with frequent summer droughts, warm and dry springs, and cool and humid autumns with frequent periods of rain. Spring, summer, and autumn are the best seasons for travel.
Leigutai Scenic Area overlooks the Yuehe River to the north and the Han River Valley to the south. Upon clearing after rain, the peaks are lushly green and shrouded in white clouds, sometimes even witnessing the spectacular sight of "Golden Summit Buddha Light." During heavy rain, fog shrouds the mountains, creating a hazy, almost magical illusion, reminiscent of a fairyland. In winter, strong winds howl, pine trees roar, and breath turns to ice. In midsummer, springs gurgle, cool breezes linger, birds chirp, and flowers bloom. The ancients exclaimed, "Green mountains are a thousand-year painting without ink, and green waters are a timeless zither without silk." The main peak of Leigutai Scenic Area stands at 1,891 meters, and there are 28 peaks above 1,000 meters. The Zhenwu Upper Temple stands on the summit, and the Lower Temple on the mountainside, inscribed with the inscription "First Peak South of Guanzhong."
