🙏 How to Worship at Longhua Temple

Worshiping at Chinese temples is similar to Mahayana Buddhist practices and involves respectful and proper steps:
1. Prepare incense and candles: These can be purchased from shops within the temple.
2. Light incense and candles: Light the incense (usually three sticks) and hold them with both hands.
3. Worship in four directions (if applicable): Face the main direction and bow three times, or choose to worship in front of a Buddha statue or deity you revere.
4. Place the incense: Insert the incense into the incense burner in front of the Buddha or at designated worship points.
5. Walk clockwise: If entering a hall, walk clockwise around the Buddha statue.
6. Make wishes or offer donations: Donation boxes and areas for name registration/prayer requests are available.
