📍Location: Shanghai Art Museum (Shanghai China Art Palace)
About a 5-minute walk from Line 8 of the subway to the entrance
This place was once bustling as the China Pavilion at the Shanghai Expo.
Now that the Expo has ended, it is accessible for free, allowing you to feel the atmosphere of the Expo at that time and enjoy various contemporary artworks.
Additionally, limited-time exhibitions are held each season, so you can appreciate different kinds of Chinese art depending on the time of your visit.
I visited around 11 a.m. on a weekday. Perhaps because of the heavy rain, there were almost no other visitors, so I was able to slowly appreciate each piece of art.
This is one of the recommended places to visit on rainy days during your stay in Shanghai or when you want to enjoy sightseeing indoors at a relaxed pace.
There is also a cafeteria and a souvenir shop on site.
*Closed on Mondays
