No kidding, you can take a boat to enjoy the scenery along both sides of the Huangpu River in Shanghai for just 2 yuan.

The "Dongjin Line" ferry connects Jinling East Road in Puxi and Dongchang Road in Pudong, with a journey time of about 12 minutes. Along the way, you can admire the scenery on both sides: the Bund's historic buildings on the Puxi side and the towering skyscrapers on the Pudong side. On the boat, you get a different perspective of the entire Bund and can look up at the skyscrapers from a closer distance, which feels very different from standing on the Bund itself.

Taking the ferry in the morning means fewer tourists. When you arrive at Dongchang Road, after getting off, you can immediately re-enter the gate and take the same ferry back. Many tourists do the same as me 😆, with the purpose of cruising on the Huangpu River. When the weather is too hot, most of the time is spent in the air-conditioned cabin; otherwise, enjoying the breeze on the deck is even more pleasant.

Compared to sightseeing boats costing hundreds of yuan, this ferry is truly a great value.

A few tips for you:
1. The "Dongling Jin Road Ferry Terminal" is under the Bund promenade. Enter the Bund from Jinling East Road and turn left after a few steps to reach it.
2. The "Dongchang Road Ferry Terminal" is near Lujiazui. If you are staying near the Bund and want to visit Lujiazui, consider taking the ferry there.
3. The scenery at dusk and night is even more beautiful, but of course, there will be many tourists, so you might have to queue.
