Pullman Central Hotel Shanghai

I spent 8 nights at Pullman Central Shanghai. The rooms are very spacious and clean, which is great for a longer stay. However, some rooms are a bit old. My first room on the 20th floor had a strong cigarette smell and felt outdated. Luckily, the reception staff were very helpful and quickly moved me to a newer room on the 21st floor — much better! There was still a light smell at first, but it went away after a day.

The hotel has a 24/7 gym with basic equipment like treadmill, bike, and weights — enough for a quick workout, but there’s no dedicated space for stretching or floor exercises. There’s also an indoor swimming pool open until 10pm, which is a nice bonus.

One very convenient feature is the robot delivery service — if you order food or packages, a robot brings it directly to your room, so there’s no need to go down to the lobby.

The location is also great — just a few minutes’ walk to Dapuqiao metro station (Line 9), with easy connections to many parts of Shanghai. There’s also a shopping mall, cafes, and restaurants nearby.

Prices for the better (newer) rooms start from around 900 CNY per night. Overall, a good choice if you’re staying in Shanghai for several days — just make sure to ask for a newer room!
