The years and landscapes captured through Wong Kar-wai’s lens gently flow within the texture of the Seagull Regent Hotel. Here lies the gilded memory of old Shanghai, nurturing a brand-new chapter of modern elegance—CCD uses the spirit of Shanghai style as its brush, allowing the century-old heritage of the Seagull Hotel and the legendary genes of the Regent to engage in a timeless dialogue along the Huangpu River.
Opening the double doors that replicate old Shanghai window panes feels like stepping into a scene from "Blossoms": a private entrance framed by floral shade and green hedges, a gentle barrier amid the bustling city, with a warmth that quietly embraces you like coming home. Inside the lobby, vintage lines intertwine with modern light and shadow, making time slow down here, slow enough to hear the echoes of years settling.
The restaurant is a flowing feast. Booths with slanted beam structures line up along the floor-to-ceiling windows, outside which rush the river and a dazzling skyline, while inside is a dreamlike theater of light and shadow. The green gradient decor shifts between light and dark, reminiscent of the flickering neon in old Shanghai ballrooms. Eastern warmth and refined Shanghai style raise their glasses together in celebration at this moment.
The guest rooms are private Shanghai-style poems. Moving the bathtub to the window lets the river breeze and starlight accompany your bathing time. The charm of old Shanghai seeps through carved lines, while modern comfortable furnishings firmly embrace today’s ease. Every detail tells a story: here lies not only the past but also the intoxication of the present.
At Seagull Regent, legend is never just a replica but a dance between history and the present—just like the unspoken tenderness in "Blossoms": all moments in time deserve to be cherished.
