When I went on a weekday morning, quite a few places were closed...

🟠Nanxiang Ancient Town
An Old Town about 45 minutes by taxi or subway from central Shanghai.
A size you can quickly explore.

You can enjoy the traditional streets and street food.
Shanghai is extremely hot in summer, and even going first thing in the morning was too hot and exhausting.
July, August, and September might be too hot to recommend visiting the Old Town...
Maybe because it was a weekday morning, about half the shops were closed💔

Because it was so hot and many shops were closed, we quickly went to Nanxiang Impression City, a department store.
About 10 minutes by taxi from Nanxiang Ancient Town.
It's spacious, clean, and recommended!
There was an area for kids to play, lots of children's products, so I thought it was a kid-friendly mall.

The jungle-like area in one corner of this department store is interesting.
It's located at the back of the store, so please look for it🌲

We had lunch at Banu Hotpot on the second floor of the department store.
This place was also kid-friendly and gave lots of toys and desserts, haha.
