Zhujiajiao Ancient Town, Shanghai 🛶

🥰 This trip was another memorable one, as we visited Zhujiajiao Ancient Town, a waterfront town not far from Shanghai. 🚕 We took a taxi out of the city for about 200 yuan, and upon arriving, we were immediately greeted by a different atmosphere than the big city. 🌿🏯

As soon as we entered the ancient town, the first thing that struck us was the tranquility and traditional Chinese culture. 🏮 The old houses lining the canals, the stone bridges connecting the two banks of the river 🛶, and the bustling sounds of vendors around the market are what make this "Venice of Shanghai" so captivating. 💕

👉 Another highlight not to be missed is renting traditional costumes and getting Douyin (抖音) makeup. 💄📸 There are so many shops to choose from. We saw many people dressed in traditional costumes and strolling around the alleys taking photos, perfectly fitting in with the atmosphere. It truly felt like we'd traveled back in time. 🏮✨

The food is also a highlight. 😋 They have a variety of traditional snacks, desserts, fruit skewers, milk tea, and cold drinks. Including local dishes that can only be found here. 🍡🥟 It's a delightful stroll, almost impossible to stop and try. Each shop is decorated so cutely, it invites you to stop along the way.

What we really enjoyed was walking slowly along the canal, watching the wooden boats go by. The atmosphere is so romantic and peaceful. 🛶🌸 If you have time, we recommend taking a boat ride to enjoy the view. You'll get a different perspective, which is even more beautiful.

For anyone visiting Shanghai, we highly recommend spending some time in Zhujiajiao. 👍 It's not a long journey, but you'll definitely experience the culture, food, and a chill atmosphere that's completely different from the hustle and bustle of the big city. ✨
